Accidental Counsellor

Many of us unexpectedly become the 'first point of contact' when someone is distressed. whether it’s a colleague, client, student, friend, or family member. These conversations can feel overwhelming if you don’t know what to say or do.

The Accidental Counsellor Training equips you with practical, easy-to-use strategies to respond with confidence, compassion, and healthy boundaries. At the heart of this program is my 4-Phase Framework:

The 4-Phase Framework

  1. SEE – Recognise the signs when someone is struggling.

  2. SUPPORT – Offer safe, respectful, and compassionate connection.

  3. STEER – Guide the conversation in the right direction without taking on the full responsibility.

  4. PRACTICE SELF-CARE – Protect your own wellbeing and prevent burnout.

What You’ll Gain

✔ Confidence to hold safe and supportive conversations

✔ Skills to set clear boundaries while still showing care

✔ Tools to reduce stress and compassion fatigue

✔ A stronger, more resilient team or workplace culture
